Mel & Rob were married on one of the most beautiful spring Sunday afternoons Sydney offered this year. The setting at Clarkes Point was just beautiful.
We met Mel getting ready at her family home with her parents, brothers and sisters, nephews and bridesmaids. There was a fun atmosphere in the house as everyone prepared. The girls had their hair done by Julie Blazely and make up done by Carla from Much Make Up, a bit of a surprise for us as Carla had actually done Jen’s make up on our wedding day many moons ago!
The ceremony was held at Clarke's Point Reserve Woolwich, where all the guests were very excited for the couple. Following the ceremony, we took a water taxi across Sydney Harbour to Blues Point and then to Jeffrey St Wharf, both with views to the Harbour Bridge and Opera House, returning to the Deckhouse Woolwich to join all the guests for a friendly and high spirited reception.
Thanks guys we had lots of fun!

While we've had a very wet summer this was the first wedding we've actually done the bridal shoot indoors, but it certainly didn't dampen the spirits of the bridal party and we managed to go outside briefly during the reception to catch the last of the afternoon sun when it did appear.
The afternoon began at Jenny's parents house where she had grown up, we took some photos in the front lawn where apparently she'd had previously been photographed in a white dress... that time for her first communion. So lovely to have the family history all wrapped up in the wedding photos. Then onto St Peter Chanel, Hunters Hill for the wedding ceremony. Gerry and his boys were a little nervous but soon relaxed into it, and said he just wanted to get on with the show.
Following the wedding ceremony all the guests spilled out of the church to hot muggy conditions, and huge black clouds just waiting to open. We had just finished the last of the family photos when the heavens opened, and rained with good heavy Sydney summer rain for the whole time we had allocated for the bridal photos! So we headed down to Deckhouse Woolwich, where the reception was being held and found their other function room and balcony empty so utilised that with a bit of fun. Then after a few speeches and food at the reception, the sky had cleared to a lovely late afternoon light, so we took the bridal party out for just a few more photographs outdoors. Before the real partying began with lots of dancing, cigar smoking and even a guest jumping into the harbour!

This was a very special wedding to us as Jess is one of my cousins.... she's come a long way from the purple haired girl I travelled around Spain with many years ago!
Jess & Nick planned their wedding in record time, which was probably the way they always wanted to do it not really being into much fuss, and it was a perfect day. We started at Jess' family home where she was getting ready with her sister, Mum and unofficial bridesmaid Jackson (their 'baby' boxer!). As the heavens opened we met Nick at the church and photographed indoors. The service was held at St Joseph's Neutral Bay which is a family church and the atmosphere was lovely.
Following the ceremony the skies cleared and we headed down to Sirius Cove, Mosman, where Jess grew up and the couple spend a lot of their time dog walking. Of course Jackson met us there, he was very excited for his 'Mum and Dad' and stayed for a few photographs. Then the sun shone on the couple as we spent time on the little beach near the Scout Hall, I just love the old sandstone rock face and the oyster covered slipway. Then went up the hill to Taronga Zoo where the reception was being held.
It was a lovely day, and I enjoyed staying on at the reception as a guests... thanks guys!

This family enjoyed the Australia Day long weekend with a trip to Sydney from Melbourne. Knowing they had the trip planned David arrange a family portrait photography session with us for his wife for Christmas. Their little 18 month old Tyler just loves the beach that was the setting they chose... and he loved it!
We so enjoy photographing toddlers as they explore their surroundings and enjoy making you laugh, being the centre of attention is all they need to shine.....

What a stunning day!
We first met Carla's family almost a year ago when Justin photographed her father's 60th birthday party, then Carla got engaged an immediately thought of us for her wedding photography. She has such a beautiful family, and so does Matthew so we had a wonderful day celebrating with everyone. Both of their families are so close that their bridal party was made up solely with their siblings.
We started the day at Carla's family home in Woolwich with beautiful views of the harbour. The atmosphere was filled with excitment as the whole family including parents, sisters, nieces and nephew were all getting ready at the house. Then we met Matthew at the church with his brothers and sister as the excitment (and nerves) built for them.
As Carla's nieces, nephew and sisters walked down the aisle ahead of her all the guests were full of smiles, then followed the stunning bride with her father, so relaxed and ready to take this wonderful step. The ceremony conducted by Father Kevin at Holy Name of Mary Hunters Hill, was as always with Father Kevin filled with laughter and love.
After the ceremony we headed down to Clarkes Point Woolwich, for a lovely bridal shoot with the couples siblings. Then walked up to Cucinetta's Restaurant where all Carla's family celebrations are held, it's location, atmosphere and food are exceptional and all the guests had a wonderful evening.

We were contacted just before Christmas by Paul to arrange a family portrait gift voucher for his wife for Christmas, what a great present. Then we got to go and meet the family....
What a goregous family, we had a great time with these guys. We starting at their home playing with the girls in their bedroom and then on their bikes, before heading down to Fairlight Beach for some fun in the sun....
Both the girls were very cheeky and lots of fun. Thanks for letting us capture some of the essence of your family.

Bonnie & Chris are a great fun couple, Bonnie the professional horse rider and Chris the policeman, and their friends knew how to have a good time too!
The day started off with hair and makeup at Hair By Maree in Naremburn, Bonnie has been going to this hairdresser since she was little and wanted their involvement in her wedding story. The atmosphere was fun and relaxed, we even got interest from the passing crowds....
Once the preparations were complete we headed down to Harbourside Apartments for the girls to dress, more laughter and fun there. Then onto the church, St Mary's North Sydney, chosen due to its location near Bonnie's childhood haunts and opposite North Sydney oval where Chris played for the Bears. When the ceremony was concluded the clouds started to roll in, but not detered we needed back to Blues Point for some lovely soft romantic bridal portraits in the rain.
The reception party was held at Sails Lavender Bay, and it was definitely a party, it even started with the bridal waltz to set the mood. Then fabulous speeches, feed and dancing well into the night.....

What a wonderful way to celebrate her graduation - June invited her parents to her university campus (The University of Sydney), where we proceeded to do a photo shoot of June and her parents at varying areas of the historic Camperdown/Darlington campus. Starting at the Main Quad and then moving across the lawns and down to Victoria Park, before making our way to The Faculty of Education. The weather was kind to us and we had lots of fun.
Congratulations June!

A beautiful setting on the world's best harbour for a glorious Sydney wedding!
Claire and David are a relaxed and fun couple, their preparations for their wedding were not in the least laboured and this proved very much the recipe for a wonderfully emotional and boutique wedding. The focus was for everyone to have a fun day.... which they certainly seemed to!
The clouds and rain were present, although Sydney still proved to be a simply stunning backdrop for the day, as Claire's family, who had travelled from England for her memorable day, were delighted at the splendour of what Sydney has to offer, even on a somewhat overcast day. The ceremony was held indooors at The Officers' Mess at Gap Bluff Centre, Watsons Bay, with the harbour and boats in the background. Tears, laughter, smiles, kisses, pride, confusion and a bridesmaid locked in the toilets just before the bride's 'walk' - this wedding had it all! What a wonderful ceremony from Elaine (celebrant) once again.
The bridal shoot proved to be a windy affair on the cliff walk near The Gap, so we finished it on the lawns of The Officers' Mess. Claire, David, Maid of Honour and Best Man all having great fun on the shoot, whilst champagne flowed freely. Cocktail function followed, whilst guests mingled and enjoyed the catered delights of what was on offer. A beautiful atmosphere, with Claire and David rightly at the centre of the celebrations on their stunning wedding day!

Details.... Details.... Details...
Jonno, Hailee and her mother had spend hours planning and putting together all the details of this stunning wedding. The ceremony was held in the gardens of Hailee's family home in Arcadia, with a rustic feel to the property the weddings style followed suit. There were wooden signs to direct the guests, even a sign post with signs pointing to where guests has come from far and wide. Hand written bunting with all 150 guests names on. The invitation was a collection of photographs from both Hailee and Jonno's family weddings in gilt frames, as heritage is very important to the couple, Hailee even had her grandparents and mothers wedding bands tied to her bouquet. The bride and bridesmaid dresses has be personally designed by Hailee.
All of that was just for the ceremony.... Which was very emotional all around, espcially Jonno who was in floods of tears (as were half the guests) when his beautiful bride walked down the aisle. Following the ceremony a garden party was enjoyed by all the guests in the beautiful spring sunshine, the atmosphere was so loving and happy for the couple.
The bridal party then departed in FJ Holdens, while the guests all jumped on the coach down to The Deckhouse at Woolwich for the reception. Again amazing thought and detail has gone into the reception. Each table centre had their own individual setting with antique bottles and vases filled with beads, buttons and flowers. Each guest was given a jar of homemade jam by Hailee's grandpa, and a photograph in a frame of themselves which the couple had found from their years of friendship with each person. As you can see from the photos this created great interest and entertainment as guest remember the memories captured in each photograph. The night flowed with hilarious speeches, fun and dancing....
Thanks Hailee & Jonno it was a truely special wedding we enjoyed capturing x

This is a very cute little man!
I was invited to their home to capture photographs of little Will for Christmas presents. He was such a delight, but being a typical boy he as most excited when he was naked, I particularly like the juxtapostion of the worn leather couch with this freshly minted naked little baby... his Daddy was concerned that he might wee but the good man kept it for later.
Now I'm onto designing some Hard Cover Books for his grandparents for Christmas....

What a hoot this Engagement or Beloved portrait session was, we are so looking forward to photographing Megan & Phil's wedding next April we are going to have a ball!
Megan is a Kiwi and Phil an Aussie, who currently live in London, they are getting married in Sydney next year so were home for a quick visit to make all the arrangements. We were lucky enough to meet with them and photograph this time for them. Not living in Sydney they wanted to capture some of the landmarks in their photographs, and being engineers the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge made the perfect backdrops, plus a walk through the Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney which could not be positioned in a more ideal location.
Here you'll see out typical style of lots of fun, love and laughter coming through in the photographs.....

Ankita's 1st Birthday Party was a very colourful, happy and enjoyable occasion, held at Parra Villa Function Lounge, Parramatta. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a fairy doing facepainting and games for the kids, an entrance overflowing with flying bubbles and plenty of music, dancing and happy faces. Ankita's family and friends were sharing in the joys of her 1st Birthday by having some fabulous food, games, music, discussions, cake and a sharing in a great slideshow presentation.
What a great celebration captured in photographs for everyone to remember. Well done Ankita and her parents!

As you will see from our photos Steph and Scott are quite into their sport, Scott is a diehard Parramatt Eels fan and the theming of the wedding was based around the Eels colours.... you'll see even the bridemaids wore yellow nail polish to go with their blue dresses! Then the cake and table names at the reception also tied in with the theming....
We started the day at the house that Steph grew up in, we even had a photo on the front step with her Mum to replicate the one they took when her parents first bought her home from hospital. So lovely to have these memories tie in to another milestone in her life. The garden was beautiful filled with colour, and the atmosphere at the house was very excited.
We then met a very nervous Scott outside St Francis Xavier Church in Lavender Bay were the ceremony was to be held. It's a lovely church, and the priest was lots of fun adding to the relaxed nature of the guests. Followed by lots of congratulations on the church steps and family photographs. The bridal party, including the flower girls and page boy, headed down to Blues Point and the pier next to Harbourside Apartments on a beautiful spring afternoon on Sydney Harbour. They bought along a cricket set for a game at Blues Point Reserve, plus a rugby ball for a quick game of touch, and of course a lineout!
The reception followed at The Kirribilli Club, which had a great atmosphere. As you can see all the guests enjoyed the speeches, we also showed a slideshow with highlights from the bridal shoot which everyone was "Wow'd" by....

Lisa and Josh were all about a casual wedding with no traditions just a personal experience for them and their guests.... that's exactly what they got.
We met both of them with their bridal party at Narrabeen Surf Club where the ceremony and reception were being held. We had a little bit of time with each of them and their bridesmaids and groomsmen before they gathered to greet their guests together. The atmosphere was there from the start as they mingled with their champagne in hand, then everyone moved to the front of the lawn for the ceremony, with Lisa and Josh just standing at the front. I actually overheard a guests saying "Oh that must be Lisa's sister she looks so like her.... oh actually it is Lisa she's here already!"
Following the beautiful, heartfelt ceremony, all the guests congratulated the couple and then we headed down to North Narrabeen Rock Pool in the beautiful late afternoon light for the bridal shoot, which was just like the couple casual and fun. Before returning to the cocktail reception, and guests at the Surf Club, for drinks, exceptional food and some great speeches.

Mel and Matt have been together since they were 15 years old, they are so cute and so much in love it's infectious! We had a fabulous day with their family and friends celebrating this wonderful marriage, oh and capturing the memories in photos....
We met Mel and her bridesmaids getting ready at the Vibe Hotel North Sydney, there was lots of giggles, bubbles and fun with these girls, all so excited for their beautiful friend. Then we met Matt and the boys outside St Thomas' Anglican Church, North Sydney. It's such a beautiful church, and the lighting is lovely for weddings. You couldn't help getting swept up into the fairytale here, and both Mel & Matt were very emotional.
Following the ceremony, the weather looked a little dicey so we stayed outside this wonderful church for some photographs before heading down to Balmoral Beach with the bridal party. Here the rain held off, how could it not for these two, and we had very dramatic skies, contrasting with this fun loving crowd. The girls got a little cold, and the boys obliged with their coats, plus we couldn't hold Matt down as he was jumping for joy.... Then onto Georges' Headland for some more fun, and The Tea Room Gunners' Barracks, for some very eloquent and funny speeches. Even a very moving song from Mel's Dad, that had us in tears behind the lens! Before the party continued into the night with groving on the dancefloor.....

Thought we'd quickly share with you some of the theming for our daughter's 2nd birthday party..... Her favourite book is the Gruffalo, plus the DVD so we themed it as "Tea with a Gruffalo"
"What's a gruffalo, why didn't you know?"
"His eyes are orange; his tongue is black; he has purple prickles all over his back....."

We always feel priviledge to capture family memories for our clients, but this particular extended family portrait session was extra special as it was for one of my oldest friends and her little man William. Isn't he just divine, so cheeky and so much energy.
The location for the family portraits was down at The Spit Reserve in Mosman as his Mum was keen to have the boats and a play area. The sun came out for a fabulous day and the colours are just so striking. Plus with William's big blue eyes it worked perfectly. We met the family including grand parents, and his little monkey "Jelly" in the mid morning and just played together from there!
I had such enjoyment editing the photos just looking at this families fun and love.... I hope you enjoy looking at them too.

What a great 1st Birthday Party this was for Alina! Held on sprawling grounds of a farm in Llandilo, Karina organised a grand celebration for Alina and her family and friends.
Sunshine, guests, pony rides, bubble machines, ball pits, music, BBQ, loads of delicious food, and a dog in a waistcoat! This was a recipe for fun!
The party kicked off with music, BBQ and plenty of freedom to play and chat for all, in temperatures reaching 30 degrees. Lunch was soon served and everyone was keen to get a taste of the delicious spread provided. The Birthday girl was keen to get in on the action and was seen to be leading the charge on playing in the ball pit. Then the resident pony was brought out and the children waited anxiously for their turn to ride around the paddock.
A rendition of "Happy Birthday" was followed by the cake cutting - and what a tremendous cake! Then the kids' turn to 'Smash the Cake' (another cake!) Always a great way for the kids to 'have their cake and eat it' in the only way toddlers know how - using hands, feet, heads and anything else they need to eat it!
What an exhausting afternoon - some are keen for a quick nap before coming back to the party later!

Well this wedding had it all.... thunder & lightening, sunshine, kangaroos, mustangs, laughter and love...
This day started off with beautiful sunshine, where we met Adelaide and her family, 3 sisters (bridesmaids) and parents at the couples home in Windsor. The girls then all got into the Fort GT500 and Mustang from Mustang Sally's Wedding Cars, but before they left the sky looked ominous so they luckily put the tops up. At this time we were out on the golf course at Riverside Oaks with the groom and his mates listening to the thunder and watching the lightening! Mark had to make the swift decision to move the ceremony, which was to be held under the gum trees on the course, indoors - a very good decision as the heavens opened during the ceremony leaving puddles all over the fairways.....
After the ceremony the rain eased and we headed out with the bridal party in golf carts around the course for some fun wedding photographs. We had some interested on lookers too with kangaroos and ducks. The vista's at just stunning at Riverside Oaks including a fabulous old heritage sandstone cottage.
The evening wedding reception was filled with lots of laughter from the great speeches, and dancing. We also had the opportunity to take Adelaide and Mark out for a night shoot under the uplit trees on the golf course.

I just love this little girls smile, it's more than a smile it is a full on laugh.... so cute to have these kind of expressions at such a young age! And what a lucky little cherub to have such loving parents.
The baby portrait session took place in the family home, which often works best for babies of around 3 months old as they aren't distracted with a new environment. It was also great on this particular day as it was grey and wet outside, but created beautiful light for these portraits, especially black and white portraits as you can see....

A September wedding in Sydney and who would expect it to rain? But it didn't matter nothing was going to ruin the day for these guys, Bec particularly is a very relaxed girl from Tamworth who was just so excited to be marrying Jeff, and with a bridal party of 14 there was no time to rest.
The best part of the planning for this wedding was the close proximity of all the activities you could literally see the where the bride got ready, the church, photo locations and the reception venue from everywhere we went on the day! Also something many couples really should plan well is the accomodation they are using to get ready and stay the night after the wedding, if you plan these well and have lovely locations and views then they can be used as the wet weather back up for your photos on the day. As it was the Harbourside Apartments at Blues Point where the bride and bridesmaids got ready provided just that for this couple. The views from the apartment up the harbour, and out the front the pier and large tree were great when the rain set in.
We started the with the bride and her 6 bridesmaids at the apartments, then met the boys at Lavender Bay Reserve for some fun "Boy Band" photos before crossing the road to Christ Church Lavender Bay where the ceremony was held. Following the service they rain came in so we headed back to Blues Points with the whole bridal party who were prepared with white umbrellas, and champagne!
The reception was held at Aqua Dining, a fabulous venue above the Olympic Pool at North Sydney with views of the Bridge and Opera House, and the food was outstanding. The speeches were well received by the guests, as you can see, and we also provided the couple with a slideshow of some of the photos we'd taken during the day which the guests were "Wow'd" by, and made the Bec & Jeff very emotional. We left the party with all the guests on the dancefloor for a great night....

What a wonderful day for Kira and her 3 brothers to arrange for a photoshoot with the awesome backdrop of Sydney Harbour! Kira had contacted J Roberts Photography to take casual and candid professional photographs of the 4 siblings at Blues Point in North Sydney. We used the stunning views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House in the background. This photography shoot was taken for a surprise birthday present for their mother - some enlarged art prints, canvases, acrylic blocks are going to be produced for their mother's birthday present. The shoot was filled with fun and laughter, and the wind made for some fabulous shots. When brothers and sisters get together for a fun photoshoot, the images taken are always full of giggles, laughs, tickling and fabulously fun photos. A lifetime of memories captured in one moment!

What a magical day for this little princess. Her 3rd birthday party was a princess themed party and her Mum (who is very talented clearly) went to great lengths to ensure it was the perfect day. I just loved it, all the pink, fairy wings, princess crowns, castle cake, fair dust, face painting, drawing and dancing.
You'll see the only way to do justice to this party in photography was to capture the detail.....

Here we are at the final chapter of Greta's first year... she's grown into such an adorable little girl, with a very cheeky grin. Follow the story with our first two chapters 3 months old and 6 months old.
It's really lovely when we get to see a family grow together and capture all the fun and excitment with it. We so enjoy photographing this family in their home, the girls get very excited and get to dress up especially for the photos. Little Gia wondered if I would notice their pretty clothes as they got dress, which of course I did.... she was very pleased! And Greta, being the youngest of 3 just revelled in all the attention as the photo shoot was all about her....
Now I get the pleasure of putting together a coffee table book with the story of Greta's first year in photographs, and a commentary from her parents... can't wait!

Shivani contacted us with great excitement about the fabulous 23rd birthday party she was putting together on a Sydney Harbour Cruise. She wanted all the evening's atmostphere captured in photographs. All her friends gathered at Star City Casino Wharf, where the harbour cruise was to begin. Justin met the crowd there.
The cruise started well, with all the party guests enjoying the atmosphere on the boat as it left Star City and travelled under the Anzac Bridge towards the Sydney Fish Markets. Unfortunately for Shivani, the cruise company was pulled over by the water police and the boat travelled no further. Justin of course kept the photographs going and the guests enjoyed partying on until they disembarked and walked back to the casino.
As you can see from the photos, everyone had fun and Justin even created some entertainment through his photography .....

We were lucky enough to have photographed this little cherubs parents wedding earlier this year, we just love staying involved with the couples and continuing the capture their precious moments as their families grow.
One of their close friends who we met at their wedding contacted us just before she was born to arrange a Newborn Baby Portrait Photography Gift Voucher for them. So I was very excited when her Daddy called to let me know she had arrived and to arrange the baby portrait session.
At 2 weeks old little Matilda is a little older than we usually like to work with for newborn shoots as they generally won't sleep, and when they are awake they don't focus on anything specific.... but not this little angel she was a super star! She was a delight awake, and fell asleep soundly on queue, the only time she got upset for a few minutes it was quickly stopped by my camera.... she loved it! And what a pretty little bubba she is too, just perfect for baby portrait photography....

This was a truely stunning wedding held at The Tea Rooms, Gunners' Barracks Mosman. With some of the most beautiful views in Sydney situated in the historial area of Georges Heights, Gunners' Barracks is one of the a dream location for weddings and wedding photography in Sydney. To take full advantage of the location we met both David and Sarah in the area for photographs of them and their respective attendants prior to the wedding ceremony. David and the boys were all dressed up in full morning suit, including the two little paige boys who are David's nephews, and his neice looked gorgeous in her little white dress. We photographed them around the historial buildings, before heading to the top of the hill to meet Sarah, her bridesmaids and family for some beautiful candid photographs. Everyone was so excited about the day and for the couple which the photographs really express.
The ceremony itself was held in the Gunners' Barracks courtyard, which was eloquently put together by Elizabeth Traven Civil Celebrant. It really was very personal and the courtyard was filled with a loving atmosphere. Following the ceremony we walked up to the Georges Head with the bridal party for some fun, dancing, canon riding and enjoyed the late afternoon light so romantic. We especially enjoyed the was Sarah's wedding dress swished as she walked and danced it also looked fluid.
The evening celebrations continued in the main tea room with some fantastic speeches followed by lots of revelry on the dancefloor.....
It really was a fantastic wedding that we loved being a part of, thank you Sarah & Dave!

What a splash of colour after a week of grey old rain!
This multi generation shoot was so much fun, the family were all together for the first time in a while as one of the daughters has flown out from India for their father's 60th Birthday. We had some fun making Poppy the centre of attention too...
After a week of rain we decided to have the portrait session at the family home which is stunning and allowed for a few changes of clothes. As usual I was on hand to help get the youngest generations attention and get everyone laughing, while Justin took the photographs, but this little man was so easy he just smiled and giggled all day....

Little Naomi as just 7 weeks old, so aware and so loved by her parents.
7 weeks is usually a tricky age for baby photography, while no longer sleepy and much more alert the babies aren't quite there with their facial expressions and reactions yet. But little Naomi was great, she even went to sleep for a little while for us. And those lovely big blue eyes...

What a treat! One of my closest friends had her second little angel last week and I was on their door step almost as soon as they got home to take some newborn baby photos. And isn't he adorable.... It is so lovely to be able to capture these precious memories for my clients, but even more so when it's a close friend. Plus I got lots more cuddles too!

This was a fun extended family portrait shoot with a focus on little 6 month old Lauren. She is just adorable and so cute when she smiles and wrinkles up her little nose. She was joined by her older brother, at 3 1/2 it's a difficult age to hold their engagement on the shoot but working as a team we generally get some good reaction, and as you can see a rumble with Dad never goes astray! Plus along with Mum & Dad, they were also having a visit from their New Zealand Grandparents.
Beautiful memories of a fabulous time for the whole extended family.

What a wedding day, amazing couple, amazing locations, amazing light.... it had it all!
Suzie the bride was so excited and gorgeous, and our biggest challenge for the day was to get Andrew to stop talking and telling jokes long enough to take his photo! We have hundreds of shot of him talking and everyone else laughing....
This stunning Sydney spring day started with Suzie and her bridesmaids getting ready at her parents place. The atmosphere was relaxed, excited and bubbly (a great description for Suzie herself). We then met Andrew at Clarkes Point Reserve where their ceremony took place under a marquee with Sydney Harbour in the background. The ceremony was conducted by a family friend, and celebrant, Caroline Hopwood, it was very personal with the couple even writing their own reading.
Then the couple and their bridal party caught a water taxi across to Cockatoo Island for the bridal shoot. What fun we had with these guys, the light was amazing and we were spoilt of choice of locations on the island itself. There was bush fires in the Blue Mountains which created the most amazing light at sunset, I haven't done any colour work on these images this is exactly what the light was like.... The smoke in the atmosphere also created that amazing moonrise shown in these photos and I also blogged about after the wedding.
The reception was held at Deckhouse Woolwich, stunning spot, beautiful food and service, plus it was great fun. Andrew is an Event Manager (it was great we knew lots of the same people and got on like a house on fire, but I digress), so the evening was filled with all sorts of surprises for the guests. They had an exhibition of photographs, the couple had taken on their many travels, set up for pre dinner drinks. The guests then got to take a photo home a the end of the night. There was a Chinese Tea Ceremony, part of Andrew's Malaysian heritage. They also held a raffle at each table for the framed images, and the digital camera which they had provided each table for the guests to take photos on the night. As you can see from our photos everyone had a ball....

Mirjana and Robert were blessed with an absolutely amazing Sydney spring day for their wedding, warm and bathed in sunlight.
We started the day with Mirjana at her home in Chatswood, where she was very relaxed getting ready with her family and bridesmaids. All the details were there from the beautiful flowers from Best Buds, to the jewellery and the gorgeous soft prink Christian Dior shoes she had peeping out from under her dress! We then battled our way through Saturday lunchtime traffic to Robert at St Patricks College Strathfield, where the wedding ceremony was to take place. Robert had attended the school and enjoyed the backdrop of the First XV warming up behind in the photos. The ceremony was conducted by the families priest who knew the couple well and had a very personal touch.
After lots of fabulous photos with their guests and families at the church, we moved on to The Rocks with the bridal party for photographs in the sunset of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House. As you can see there are lots of photos, we really had fun with the whole crowd and I was spoilt for choice with photos so just threw lots in for you to see. Then with the light fading we walked to Wolfies Grill, where the room was set, as usual, for a fairtale evening. The speeches were received with laughter and the partying continued on the dancefloor.
We hope you enjoy looking at the story of the day as much as we enjoyed being a part of it.....

The gorgeous little Zoe gave her Mum, and both Grandmother's an extended family portrait photography package for their combined Mother's Day presents. What a treat, we got to work with the whole family.
We met the three generations of both sides of her family at at Bicentennial Park, part of Sydney Olympic Park Homebush on a crisp clear Autumn afternoon. The wind was freezing but it didn't take us long to warm up with the infectious laughter of this cute little 16 month old and her doting parents and the two sets of grandparents. The colours and light were perfect as you can see from the photos....

A beautiful sunny autumn day in Sydney, with the very cheeky Oliver, just shy of his second birthday. We had lots of fun with this gorgeous family as you can see from these photos....
Little Oliver tried to be shy to start with, but it didn't last long, then his cheeky little personality came out. Isn't he adorable with those white blonde curls plus the winter beanie and the fabulous grin. What a lovely family portrait they make.

What a lovely extended family! Three siblings who have all individually at different times migrated to Australia from South Africa (via some other destinations), settled into the Australian way of life while their family has grown. However, they are still trying to convince their Mum to move out here, so took the opportunity to have some extended family photographs taken while she was visiting from South Africa. We suggested the stunning Blues Point on a Sunday morning so she will always have sparkling Sydney to look at when she looks at photos of her family together.
We had a great morning as you can see, everyone of the family has bubbly personalities and we could have chatted and laughed all morning... well we did.... plus we took these great photos!

The week before this wedding it rained constantly, and even on the day of the wedding the rain clouds threatened. But Shaana insisted the ceremony would be held in the garden of her parents home, just as it had been for their wedding many years ago, and the sun came through for a beautiful afternoon! Before the ceremony Shaana had a group of close girlfriends helping her with the final arrangements and to get ready, and hair & makeup by Agents of Beauty, while Nick arrived in a Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 with one of his mates, which he was very excited about...
The ceremony was witnessed by close family and friends, and was conducted by Louise Spedding, Celebrant, the atmosphere was very loving. Followed by drinks and cheers from all their friends. We then took the couple down to a private reserve near the house which has a stunning view down the harbour, we had beautiful afternoon sun on the couple, however the rain clouds were darkening the sky over the city.... As you can see from the photos these guys are great friends, as well as lovers, and were very relaxed in front of the camera.
The night then continued with lots of drinks, gorgeous food served by Hooked on Catering, and dancing into the night .... as the couple said they just wanted a big party!

Oh to be 18 again!! Johann celebrated his 18th birthday party at Waverton Bowling Club with many of his good friends and family. Dancing was of the highest quality during the party, as were many of the outfits! The evening was a feast of beautiful people, delicious food, wonderful speeches, a humurous slideshow with great laughter and stories to share. A few party guests even managed a drink or two...!!
Justin, once again, had a great time during the evening at this 18th birthday party, sharing in the celebrations and capturing some fabulous moments, with his photography, as the night grew into a feverish pace! All the guests, as you can see, had a wonderful time and Justin was able to secure some wonderfully candid shots during the party, from the birthday boy's grandmothers and aunts, to his school friends.

The Grandmother of this gorgeous little boy contacted us a couple of weeks ago to arrange some family portraits for her Son and Daughter-in-law, it's such a lovely gift. Now I'm sure she will be getting some beautiful photos in return for her Mother's Day present!
This little man was very relaxed and fun from the minute we walked in the door, with those beautiful brown eyes how could we not get some fabulous photos.... plus his parents were lovely too. Here are some of the highlights.....

What a fun filled wedding! As you can see Kristy and Brian wanted a wedding that expressed them and their personalities, including their love of the bush.....
We met Kristy, her parents and bridesmaids getting ready at their home in Chatswood, and then travelled out to Rouse Hill for the remainder of the celebrations. The bridal flowers were a bouquet including some fantastic natives provided by Megan at Show Posies.
Their wedding ceremony was held at Rouse Hill Regional park on the most amazing Sydney autumn day, the sky could not have been bluer and the air stunningly clear. The ceremony included sharing of their first glass of wine as a married couple and they vowed to thing of each other each time they enjoy a glass of wine in the future! Which followed the ceremony with drinks with all their guests at the park, before heading on to Rouse Hill House for the bridal photographs. Rouse Hill House & Farm is a beautiful country home, the colours are amazing and we had a laugh a minute with these guys as we moved around the property. As you can see from the photos....
From here we went onto the reception which was being held in a marquee on a paddock where Kristy and Brian keep their horses. So of course the horses needed to be involved..... the couple arrived at the reception on horseback! Everyone was so happy for the couple and were really ready to party, enjoying the meal, wine and billy tea by the camp fire towards the end of the night.

One of the best parts about your work is the wonderful couples, families and children we get to photograph. We truely enjoy people and just love being able to capture beautiful expressions on camera.
I've just finished updating our testimonials page with the feedback we've received over the past couple of months, and it's lovely to be able to hear back from our clients that our enjoyment is mirrored by them and in our photography.

This family have been blessed with newborn baby twin boys, and they have a gorgeous older sister. They also have some lovely friends who purchased a newborn portrait photography gift voucher from us and gave it to them as a gift after the birth. It's such a precious gift to give a family, captured memories to treasure.
The boys are 10 days old, however Tate the larger of the two boys was very alert and just did not want to relax and let me take photos he had to keep an eye on everything! He finally crashed with exhaustion and snuggled down with his little brother Levi for some beautiful photographs. As you can see they have an amazing Mum who gave birth naturally and looks fantastic, plus very adoring and beautiful older sister Masey and very proud Dad. I really enjoyed working with this beautiful family and felt like I'd know Sarai the gorgeous Mum for years....

Mother's Day is just around the corner and it prompted us to think about mothers....aren't they just the most amazing people! I think we should cherish them as much as we can in our everyday lives. However, it's wonderful to be able to look back on captured memories when we do take some time-out to appreciate our fabulous mothers.
I recently read a blog posted by a fellow photographer, posing the question: "Is there a perfect time for family portrait photography?" She points out how quickly time flashes by when we aren't looking, and how important it is to capture the "here and now" no matter what. She touches on those families who have very sadly lost their mothers, and how important it is for them to be able to look back on the captured memories and cherish every photo they have.
The conclusion of her article is: "we never know what tomorrow will bring our way....NO, THERE IS NO PERFECT TIME...." She hopes that the article "....will inspire someone, who might be waiting for that perfect time or to lose a couple of kilos, to book a photographer…today!"
So this Mother's Day, capture those memories by ordering a Portrait Package Gift Voucher with J Roberts Photography, for your Mum, your wife or a pregnant mother-to-be!

Wow what an auspicious start to this couples marriage... the morning started with rain showers and just before the set time for the wedding it cleared producing this stunning rainbow that ended right at The Tea Rooms, Gunners' Barracks, Mosman where the ceremony was to take place. The rain continued to clear through the morning creating this amazing clear blue sky and fabulous wedding photography. Margaret and Simon selected a small wedding attended by their closest family and friends. The ceremony included traditions from both their families heritage of Jewish and Chinese touching on the fact that both their grandparents moved to Australia away from hardship.
We met the groom at the venue as they were setting up in the courtyard for the ceremony, and then the bride arrived utilising the bridal preparation room at Gunners' Barracks for last minute touch ups. Following the ceremony all the guests moved up to George's Headland for the stunning views across Sydney Harbour and out the heads, where we spent some time with the couple capturing this beautiful morning for them. Before moving on to a lovely lunch in the Tea Rooms at Gunners' Barracks. The bride handmade all the details herself including the bouquets, place cards and the cake and chuppah under which they got married were made by the mother of the groom - Kim, as you can see from our photos every detail has the personal touch.

As you know I just love taking newborn baby portraits, the floppy, softness of the little babies in their first week is so precious to capture in photographs. But last week I was in for a real treat with these gorgeous little twins. The girls were 2 weeks old which is usually outside my newborn window for portraits however as they were slightly premature they were still a little sleepy. As you can see one is slightly larger than the other and was more alert, but when snuggled up together they were very happy to settle and sleep.
Their older sister was also very excited about her two little sisters, and protective as all sibling are, the most amazing time for any family..... This family now has these beautiful memories captured to treasure for a lifetime.

Jess and Dane were amazing lucky with the weather on their wedding day, we hope this is a sign about the future of their marriage. On the driving out to meet the bride prior to the wedding there was dark clouds and heavy rain, but about 10 minutes from their home the sky cleared to beautiful sunshine, and the clear weather followed them for the rest of the day.
The bride got ready at their home on a property in Glenorie which you can see it a beautiful place with so many photogenic locations. Our brief was for sun and relaxed wedding photographs which we do best, and you'll see both the boys and the girls had a bit of fun. The service was held at St Charles Church with a great priest Father David Orr, you can even see his sense of humour in the photos! After the ceremony we took the bridal party down to Kissing Point Park which had stunning afternoon light for a great bridal photography shoot which everyone enjoyed .....

Jamie's 21st birthday party is certainly one that will be remembered as great fun by all, if these photos are anything to go by! Justin had a lot of fun capturing the night and as usual fitted into the crowd - so much so that the client said many people thought he was a family friend....
The party was held at Hilton Sydney and was themed with purple and orange which looks stunning in the photographs. All the guests were dressed to impress in black tie for a great night out. The evening held speeches, slideshows, a pipe band and highland dancers in acknowledgement of Jamie's heritage, and lots of dancing on the dance floor. Please enjoy looking back on the night through these photos......

This family have a lovely tradition of have a portrait session with their children at ages 3 month, 6 months and then 12 months to create a beautiful coffee table book of their first year with professional portrait photographs. We were referred by their previous photographer when she closed her business, and have been priviledged to capture this story for their third daughter Greta. Which means we get the bonus of also working with their older 2 girls. As you can see they are a beautiful family, and we have a great time interacting with them.
Stay tuned for the final chapter with the 12 month old portraits later this year!

Aren't these guys adorable... "Copy" & "Paste"..... well it's true with the twin boys they really are a matching set!
We've been photographing this family for a number of years now but this is our first chance to capture their new additions Austin & Lewis. They are 6 months old, but being premature twins their adjusted age is 3 months old, and aren't they just cute. We had a great morning at the family home photographing them with their parents and older brother. Capturing some family portraits for them to remember this time for years to come.
Me thinks there is going to be lots of rumbles and rugby in the backyard as they grow up!

We were invited to capture some fabulous memories of John's 60th celebrations, at Cucinetta Ristorante, by his 4 gorgeous daughters. They had planned a beautiful lunch overlooking the harbour and it was a stunning day, if a little hot and humid. Justin was the photographer on the day and he really enjoyed mingling with the very friend crowd.
As you can see from the photos everyone had a great time and now they have great memories of the party to look back on through these party photographs.....

The proud Scot and English woman!
As you can see Steve is a Scot and Joanne an English woman, they've lived in Sydney for over 12 years and their wedding was a great excuse for all their family and friends to travel out to Sydney. Joanne has 4 brothers and Steve 4 sisters, so there was a large crowd, and the first time either family has been all together for a very long time. So the day was filled with much love and happiness.... Plus many of the visitors were a little red and hot from the Australian summer!
We met Steve at the Eucalypt Lawns, the Royal Botanic Gardens to photograph him just prior to all the guests arriving on a coach. He was a organising, excited, nervous and just a little hot in his full woollen Scottish National kilt and the 90% humidity Sydney had put on. Then Joanne arrived with her girls looking serene, I'm still not sure how as they had walked across the Gardens from their hotel! We captured a few lovely moments, with photographs, of the bride with her Dad and flower girls. Then the ceremony began with the beautiful Sydney Opera House and Harbour as the backdrop. Suzanne Stirling was the celebrant and she conducted a beautiful ceremony, even with a little competition from the cockatoos in the trees.
After the ceremony we arranged numerous family and group photographs, as this was such a special occasion having all the families together. Then we took Joanne and Steve for a walk through the gardens which gave them a chance to relax and forget about us with the cameras. Before heading down to The Rocks for some photographs with the stunning Sydney Opera House, and Sydney Harbour Bridge. Then we went on to Wolfies Grill and met up with the rest for the guests for the reception where lots of fun was had (and photographed) by all.

The Bride from the wedding we photographed a couple of weeks ago asked me for a recommendation of a florist, so I didn't hesitate in recommending Megan Merry from Show Posies. Having worked with Megan in the past I know she is very artistic, has a wonderful eye for detail and a lovely personality. Clare, the bride, couldn't speak highly enough of her, when we met up prior to the wedding, saying she had been a wonderful help and great to deal with. Then on the day when the flowers were presented she was thrilled with the divine flowers. As you can see below all the bouquets were a collection of roses, with hot pink for the flower girls, and the button holes pure white. The flowers for the cake were also a striking hot pink gloriosa.
For more information on Show Posies please see the below link:

Remember those pregnancy portrait photographs I posted a couple of weeks ago? Well meet the adorable little baby boy that was lucky enough to be born into this wonderful family.... At just 6 days old he was just right for newborn portraits all floppy and cute. And in every photo to can see how proud his big brother and sister are of him, not to mention his parents.
I can hear you oohing and ahhing allready... Enjoy!

When we first met Clare & James they described the plans for their wedding as a "Country Wedding in the City", and that's exactly what it felt like. There was a large number of guests who had travelled to Sydney for the wedding itself, everyone was relaxed and excited for the couple which made for a beautiful atmosphere.
We met Clare at the Sebel Residence Chatswood for some photographs of "the bride" getting ready, there was a crowd of girlfriends there to celebrate with her and her 3 adorable little bridesmaids. We then went on to Chatswood Golf Club which is where the ceremony and reception were being held. Here we found James and all the guests enjoying the beautiful sunshine, with some drinks, out on the course awaiting Clare's arrival. James couldn't keep the smile off his face, and it just grew bigger when Clare arrived.
Following the ceremony the bride and groom, plus the 2 of us, jumped in golf buggies and zoomed around the course for some beautiful photographs with the couple on their bridal shoot. It was a lovely time for them to enjoy by themselves before they headed back to get into the party with all their guests!

We love these precious relationships, little man Max here was well known to us even before he was born, 18 months ago we photographed his parents wedding! So we were delighted when his Mum & Dad asked us to come and capture their memories of this precious time. Max is now 10 weeks old and a very cute baby, he wasn't really in the mood to smile but that just made for some fun shots of his Dad particularly trying to make him laugh..... I especially enjoyed working with the beautiful outdoor light, and the garden setting they had. Max's Dad won this little baby couch in a raffle just days before he was born and I couldn't resist using it as a prop.

This really is a very special family to us, we have been very privileged to "Capture their Memories" of many precious moments for them over the years. It all started with photographs of their eldest at 6 months old, since then we've done many family portraits, pregnancy portraits with their second child, newborn portraits of that little one, and now they have asked us to photograph the third child's pregnancy. Plus you'll probably notice we also photographed the father's 40th birthday party just a couple of weeks ago!
We always have great fun with them, and this shoot was no exception, with everyone very excited about the imminent arrival of the new little baby. The older kids were delighted to just play around and produce some beautiful photographs.....

The guest of honour at this 40th Birthday Party was an ex-NSW cricketer, so the guest list included some famous cricketing faces. You'll see the captains of both the English and Irish cricket teams: Andrew Strauss fresh from winning The Ashes series for England on the previous day! You'll also see that it didn't stop some of the guests giving him some helpful advise....
The atmosphere was casual summer, with all the crowd having a great night. The speeches were fun, the cake flaming and everyone enjoyed themselves, as you can see....

"Images today are by J Roberts Photography who have captured Kate and James’ wedding day in the way they wanted- vintage, band style photos and took on Kate and James’ fun requests like photos in a chestnut tree!"

Well school holidays had only just started and this family decided to head down to the beach, and invited us along to capture the memories. Also in time for them to use the family portraits for Christmas presents.
It was a beautiful morning, with lots of fun and silliness as you would expect when the kids have only just gone on holidays! We really enjoyed photographing the whole family in this lovely natural, candid way. Enjoy....

Wow what a stunning wedding! Both Alana and Darren had been planning the wedding day for a long time, and when the day came it was beautiful. Alana was a little nervous but soon relaxed with a bit of laughter and fun with her bridesmaids. But Darren was like "the cat that got the cream", with a huge smiling that he just couldn't wipe off his face from the beginning, to the end of the day.
We met the bride along with her family at a family home, with an Italian family there was lots of people around, making for fun photographs. We then went to the church and grabbed some time with the groom and his boys there. The service was conducted by Rev Fr Chris Middleton SJ the Principal of St Aloysius' College, and it was very relaxed, all about their loving union. Following the service we took the bridal party to Balmoral Beach for some photographs. It was a very sunny Saturday afternoon, however very windy, which worked well for us, leaving the beach free for the bridal party photographs! Then onto Blue Point Reserve for fun shots with the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House in the background. The reception was held at L'Aqua Cockle Bay where everyone partied the night away, including their own fireworks display....
So as you can see a wonderful fun day captured in beautiful photographs.

Wazza'a 30th was a big party and he wanted some great photos to capture the memories. He was so lovely in the lead up and really excited, both Justin and I got excited along with him. He had arranged for 30 of his friends to join him at Strike Bowl @ King St Wharf for a night of bowling and karaoke... with karaoke as the focus which you'll see below.
There was lots of fun had by all, and some great party photographs to remember the evening....

Beautiful spring day for a Sydney foreshore wedding!
Misoo and Adrian are a very relaxed and fun couple, their approach to their wedding was very laid back, and they just wanted everyone to have fun.... which I think you'll see they did! Again after dire predictions of rain (we've been having all the luck lately with weather for weddings!), the weather changed and Sydney put on this beautiful day. Misoo's Korean heritage was brought out in the beautiful traditional clothing the ladies wore, including Adrian's Mum which was a lovely touch for all. The ceremony was held at Kurraba Point, with the harbour and boats in the background. We then travelled with the bridal party to Cremorne Point, which was really busy in this Sunday afternoon but we managed to angle the shots perfectly to show the couple and city at it's best. From here we went on down to Shelly Beach where the reception was being held at Le Kiosk Restaurant.
At Shelly Beach, Manly, we walked around to the ocean pool, and sculptures for some fun photographs, with lovely afternoon sun light. And as the sunset the couple took their champagne for a little time on their own on the rocks to watch the setting sun, and celebrate their wedding!

Yes that's right Justin and I finally got in front of the camera together! And joined our girls for a family portrait session. The lovely Jacqui worked with us to take there photographs at Chinaman's Beach, Mosman. It was a boiling hot day so we worked quickly with the girls and got further insight into being on the other side of the camera with our own children! It was lots of fun.

We really enjoy being invited to capture peoples memories of their birthday celebrations and this was no exception. Justin was the photographer on the night, for this black tie 40th birthday party held at Sebel Hawkesbury in Windsor. As you can see the theme was red and white and everyone had a ball....

Boy was it hot for this family portrait shoot at Chinaman's Beach, Mosman. We decided to take as many photos as possible in the lovely park area before heading down to the beach because the heat off the sand was very hot!
We took photos of this family a year ago and really enjoyed seeing them again, they are lots of fun and a really photogenic bunch don't you think. With a 4 and a 2 year old in the heat the essence was to work quickly and keep them entertained. It's days like this that our technique of working as a team really comes to the fore, while Justin was busy working with the camera I was jumping around, making faces, singing songs and just generally making everyone laugh and have fun. With all of our photography it's important to us that you have a great time on the shoot as you want to look back on great memories captured......

This little man is just adorable, his smile is "as wide as an elephants eye". His mothers colleagues grouped together to purchase her a "Newborn Portrait Photography Gift Voucher" when she went on maternity leave. The family then elected to not take the photos straight away in the first 10 days for the classic newborn portraits, instead waited until he was 12 weeks old to capture this beautiful baby age. We enjoying photographing any baby stage!
Little baby Max also has an older sister who is just as gorgeous and worked hard to steal the show.... It was a hot day so we photographed both inside the family home and out in the park. Here are just some of the highlights....

Every family portrait we do is different, as each family expresses themselves in a unique way, which is why we enjoy photographing them. These little girls were lots of fun, once they warmed up to the camera they were great little models.....
For this portrait session we went to the family home, as little Greta is only 3 months old. The weather outside was grey but the atmosphere inside was pure sunshine..... enjoy!

This truly was a fairytale wedding, from the amazing engagement adventure to the beautiful wedding set in the gardens of the family holiday house at Wentworth Falls, Blue Mountains, these two really are blessed. And to top it all off the weather, which had been raining and terrible all week, was cloudy with beautiful light for photography, the sun even came out for the garden ceremony, and the rain held off until all the guessed were safely inside the marquee for the reception before it bucketed down!
The theme for the wedding was a 1920s nostalgic garden party and the couple wanted the photos to suit the theme. So you'll see we have some photographs with the subjects looking sternly at the camera as back in the '20s you were required to stand still for a period of time for the photograph to be taken so it was easier not to smile..... We had lots of fun with it, and so did many of the guests that joined in with the theme.
The marriage ceremony was held under a large pine tree in the gardens of the home, which was made to feel very special with over 80 "poms" made from white tissue paper floating from the trees. From here guests then moved into the marquee set in the back garden for the reception themed with green apples, and included a dessert buffet laid like a "Ye Olde Candy Store". We also had a photo booth element with a gilt frame to capture the guests having fun during the reception.
So as you can see from the photographs everyone had a fantastic day, and we had a lot of fun photographing all elements of the wedding.....

I met little baby Ashlin this morning and couldn't wait to share her photographs with you. She's just over 2 weeks old and so small & perfect. She was very accommodating being lovely and sleeping when I got to the house, however a you'll see she thought she'd better keep an eye on me.... Enjoy these lovely newborn portraits of her with her parents and loving older sister....

What a fun day. The wedding was actually planned around the honeymoon, these two were heading off on a P&O cruise with 50 of the wedding guests at 2pm on the day of the wedding. So it was an early start for us, meeting bride and bridesmaids at 7am at the Novotel Darling Harbour where they were getting ready. Then we popped up catch the boys getting ready a little while later in the same hotel. Before travelling over to King Street Wharf in a limo to meet the Captain Cook Cruiser the James Cadman III, for Aquablue Charters, outside the Sydney Aquarium, for a cruise around Sydney Harbour and the wedding ceremony.
The weather had been very wet all week leading up to the wedding, but on the day the clouds cleared to a beautiful, if a little humid, day. While everyone was a little nervous to start the day, the fun and laughter still persisted, and then it was time to party onboard as soon as the ceremony was over. As you'll see, in the photographs of this wedding, everyone was very excited for the couple and they really enjoyed themselves. We got to enjoy some time photographing the couple on board the boat with beautiful Sydney Harbour in the background, and then we took the bridal party along King Street Wharf as they headed towards their cruise for the honeymoon!

Hi Everyone,
Wow hasn't the year just flown by! There are already Christmas decorations in the supermarkets; which prompted me to send this newsletter. As with previous years, many of our clients wish to get some family portrait photographs taken in the lead-up to Christmas to use for their cards, personalised calendars, prints and canvases as presents for parents or grandparents. With our portrait packages, you receive all the images in high resolution on DVD so you can go crazy using the images for any number of photo gifts without going over budget.
However, looking at our calendar last night with Justin, we noticed that November is almost fully booked and December is filling up fast.... so if you want to arrange a Family Portrait session you'd better get in quickly!
Jump on our website to see details of the great value package we offer - www.jrobertsphotography.com.au/familyportraits
We look forward to hearing from you!
Cheers
Jen & Justin

The reason we enjoy photographing weddings is that we really love weddings, and have a great time being involved in them, we get swept up in the emotion and fun of the day. Which is why we appreciate feedback such as this from a bridesmaid at a recent wedding we shot:
"You guys are constantly smiling and enjoying yourselves, you can't help but smile and laugh right back at you!" Tris Ryan
That's how we capture beautiful, fun, relaxed, candid wedding photos like this one......

We really enjoyed photographing the 2 little girls from this family about 18 months ago, but this time they bought the whole family along. Megan (the mother) said she is constantly being complimented on the photos from our previous family portrait photography shoot, particularly because of the candid nature of the photographs and that they capture her girls just being children. We built on that theme here with these family portrait photographs, taking them to a local park where they could lark around and have a great time. Family portraits are all about capture the family as they are, and also looking back on a fun family memory. You can't expect to get photographs, when working with young children, where everyone is smiling sweetly for the camera, but you can capture some great expressions and emotions when everyone is inspired to just be themselves.
As you'll see here we had a ball photographing this family, and they just relaxed so we got to capture the essence of their fun....

The reason why we love taking photographs, is because we get to capture, in our photography, beautiful intimate moments such as this one taken of a couple at a wedding enjoying the emotion and love brought out by the day.

What a beautiful day for a wedding, although I think the 35 degree heat, humidity and sunshine were a bit much for the scots in kilts everyone had a ball. These guys are originally from Wales and Scotland but met in Holland while both working there, and have now made Sydney their home. They are a great laugh but surprised everyone, including us, by being really nervous before the actual ceremony, but it didn't take long to relax and enjoy once they were Mr & Mrs.
The ceremony was held at the Lions Gate Lodge, Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney. From here we walked down through the gardens with the bridal party. Then headed off in the wedding cars to Hyde Park Barracks for the reception. As you can see they really enjoyed the photo shoot..... lots of fun and laughter.

When you are photographers is hard not to want to just pick up the camera constantly and take portraits while your children are playing. Here are just a couple of photographs from our afternoon in the garden yesterday!

Danielle & Andrew were married at Kings School Chapel, a lovely little chapel, which has a very intimate atmosphere for weddings. From here we travelled to Blues Point for some great photos with the harbour in the background, it's the perfect spot to capture both the Harbour Bridge and Opera House, plus iconic Walsh Bay in your wedding photographs. We then went on to the Rocks where we wandered around taking photographs with the bridal party. As they had met at the Argyle Tavern, we also ventured in there for a celebratory drink, before arriving at Quay Restaurant for the reception! What a stunning location, and the food and service was exceptional.
As you can see the weather was a beautiful clear winters day, they were very lucky after a week of rain, the light is stunning and the shots came out really well.

We had a great final meeting with a couple for their wedding photography in a coupe of weeks time, looking at locations for their bridal shoot around Sydney Harbour. We couldn't help but think how lucky we are to have such a stunning natural backdrop, Sydney Harbour, for our wedding photography.
