Meet Baby Alice, just 5 days new. What a delight to be asked to photograph such a fresh little bub, made even more so that I also photographed her older sister when she was born, and her parents wedding! Such a special part of what we do, capturing the important moments in family lives.
Baby Alice had only been home since the previous afternoon so her big sister was still just getting to know about this new entity who has completely changed her world. Even in the short time I was with them you can see how she is learning and all the emotion that goes with having a new sister. So precious to be able to capture this time.
I look forward to seeing them again when they have that wonderful bond of sisterhood all sorted out x

This little squishy bundle is the adorable Samuel at 2 and a half weeks old. He's a little older than we would normally take newborn portraits but he's a delight, very alert when awake listening to me talking and looking straight at me to hear what I have to say.... very unusual! Then enjoying having his big brother and family around him, before Mummy gave him a cuddle and put him to sleep, then he was a very content little man too a delight to photograph.
Thank you T family for inviting me to capture these precious memories, always a priviledge especially as I also capture his big brother's first few weeks too x

Newborn babies are such a precious gift, and being asked to photograph them to capture these memories is so special. They gorgeous lips, smooth skin, little hands and wrinkled feet..... every detail a wonder. Little Miss Jessica is like a little doll, her parents in awe.
We were lucky enough to photograph her parents wedding a few years ago, and were delighted to hear their family was growing and we were being asked to photograph them. Thank you for inviting us to be a part of another important moment in your lives, and allowing up to photograph these memories for you forever. xx

I was lucky enough to know Little Miss Payton's family before she did having caputured some family portraits for them just over a year ago. So I was delighted when they contacted me to say the family was expanding and could I photograph this milestone for them. The focus being of course on the new little bubba but also on her big brother..... 2.5 years old is a tricky age to become a big brother and all that responsbility......
It of course was lots of fun coming into the family home and capturing the essence of this little family. Miss Payton didn't want to sleep as she was busy keeping an eye on me, and wondering what her big brother was up to next. Something I'm sure will continue as she grows. And so we have this moment in time captured for the family to look back on in years to come xx

We were blessed with another beautiful afternoon for our Summer Mini Family Portrait Photography sessions down at Long Reef Beach, which always has fantastic light. We played and laughed with 12 families and captured their natural interactions with each other. So now they all have lovely photos to use for gifts for Christmas!
If you'd like to hear about when our next session is being held please see our website - http://www.jrobertsphotography.com.au/seasonalminisessions

We've been lucky enough to capture memories for this family for a long time, including maternity photographs with their eldest child, her baby portraits and now this little mans baby portraits. The family pets always get included in the portrait sessions as they are very much a part of the family.
So you'll see as the focus of this portrait session was on baby Liam who is 12 weeks old, his big sister and family pets also got very involved in the session.

I was lucky enough to photography Little Miss Josephine's big brother Oscar when he was a baby almost 3 years ago, so it was lovely to come back to the family home and meet the new addition to the family.
At 11 days old Josphine was very aware of everything around her, and spent a lot of time looking for her big brothers to see what they were up to.... she will definitely be bossing them around soon enough! Particulary her middle brother Oscar who said at least 3 times throughout the morning how much he loved his little sister, and she turned her head to look for hime everyone time he was talking. She is a very lucky little girl to have been born into so much love already.
Thank you Sarah and Wade for inviting me into your home again to capture these memories for you x

Little George was 2 weeks old when it went to his home to take his photograph. Usually we recommend we take newborn style photographs before the baby is 10 days old, however as George's mother is a few old friend of mine we agreed we could be patient (using the time it took to settle him to sleep as a chance to catch up!) and still take sleepy photos of this little cherub.
I got the call from his Mum after they had had friends over with a new good camera they were playing with after Christmas..... and they realised that iPhone photos just weren't doing their little man justice and they really needed some "proper" photos taken of him at this precious stage. Something I recommend to most people..... but I am a little biased as I prefer good quality photos of for my children to look back on.
As you can see we had a lovely morning of cuddles with George, including capturing his little frown he sleeps with, for his Newborn Baby Portrait Session.

Annaleise's Christening Day
I've photographed many events for this extended family over the last few years and just love seeing this large family all together.
We started photographing Annaleise's christening day with some family portraits at the family home before heading off to Our Lady of Lebanon in Harris Park for the ceremony. It was a very hot afternoon and little Annaleise's fell asleep during the ceremony and didn't even wake up with the water was being poured over her head! She is just adorable and loved being handed around to all the family, and she's so photogenic I couldn't get enough of her.
After the ceremony the celebrations continued in Woolwich at Cucinetta's with a wonderful atmosphere and view across the harbour.
Thank you for inviting me again to capture this special time for your family guys x

I just love photographing little ones around this age, Balen is 13 months old and they are just so curious, but the best part about photographing babies and toddlers is capturing all the range of expressions they make as they practice communicating, it's just adorable and Balen was no expection.
When photographing young children, if possible, I recommend we start at their home so they are in a comfortable environment, and then we can venture to a local area. This also give you a range of indoor photographs with flash lighting, and outdoor natural light images. This family are lucky enough to live near Ku-ring-gah National Park so after some fun at their lovely home we headed to the National Park which has lots of beautiful spaces.
Thanks for allowing me to capture a lovely morning with your family Katie and Jarrod x

Baby Nicholas was born early so we decided to wait until his due date to have his newborn baby portraits taken, he did keep an eye on my for a long time and not really want to go to sleep however his alertness was great as he was very focused and strong with his body control. Big sister Rebecca was also very excited and enjoyed keeping an eye on what I was up to, joining in with her own cardboard box camera and being a fabulous big sister looking after her baby brother.
But as they say patience is the key when photographing babies and finally he decided he was tired for some beauitful sleepy baby photos :-)

Little Orla was just adorable, but she did not want to be going to sleep while I was around, she was far to interested in everything and just wanted to keep an eye on me. Luckily her gorgeous parents were very relaxed and happy to go with the flow, so we got some lovely photos of them interacting with their new little angel and also of Orla relaxing. Then finally with a little encouragement some sleep ....
Thank you for inviting me into your home Tina and Aaron, you are wonderful relaxed parents and Orla is going to have lots of fun x

Baby Ethan is just 4 weeks old, and he's been lucky enough to have his grandparents out visiting from the UK. So his parents thought is would be great to get some extended family portraits with both sets of grandparents, plus his parents and 2 year old sister Catelyn, before they headed home. So we met at Wendy Whiteley's Secret Garden in Lavender Bay, it's such a hidden gem of Sydney.
As you can see, as always seems to be the case with 2 year old, his big sister Catelyn was the centre of attention. However, Ethan was very alert and responsive with lovely smiles and giggles already! So we did manage to get some lovely family moments with Ethan.....

Baby William at 10 days old is very alert and knows exactly what he wants..... and thats to be held all cuddly and warm in Mummy & Daddy's arms. He really didn't like me coming in and trying to put him down on his own, then unwarp him! But he was good enough to give me just a few minutes to take these photos, and lots of time in his parents arms taking photos. But I think the last photo about sums up what William thought of the whole experience..... hand over the face saying "No more photos please!" Such a shame because he is just adorable, look at those perfect little lips.... even pouting x
These guys are actually friends of a couple whose wedding we photographed 5 years ago, that couple arranged a gift voucher for a newborn shoot for William's parents, such a great idea to help his parents remember this precious time......

It's she just adorable with those beautiful big blue eyes and the alabaster skin, little Emily at 3 months old.
Emily's parents had seen my work at a friends place and contacted me when she was only a few weeks old to arrange a baby portrait photography session. As I always advise I suggested we wait until she was over 12 weeks old so that we can capture her personality in the photos. We booked in a date and the moved it as she was having physio on her neck, so we waited for her to get stronger and be a more relaxed baby...... and these are the results.
When I arrived at their home she was happy and smiley, so we got to work quickly, before she got tired. Then she had a few naps and cuddles. What I love is the range of expression you get from a young baby, especially when she is staring at your taking everything in. I also had fun with her big 5 year old brother Harry, playing in his room, and having cuddles with his little sister.....

Isn't Ishara just the cutest little thing, I just love 6 months old, it's such an adorable age to photograph as they try to entertain you, and look curiously at everything you do.
Ishara's parents were very lucky and a friend arranged a baby portrait gift voucher for them as a present when her Mum went on maternity leave. These gift vouchers can be used for portrait sessions with the baby anytime up until they are 1 year old. So I came to their family home and had some fun with them all, and really enjoyed editing the photos with those beautiful brown eyes!

Nora contacted me a little while ago because she lives overseas and was heading home to visit her parents and introduce her new little baby Sebastian. While she is in Sydney she wanted to capture some portraits of her 4 month old baby boy with his grandparents and parents. What fabulous memories for all!
So we met at the family home in Russell Lea for a few portraits before heading outdoors to Rod Park in Russell Lea, on Sydney Harbour on a beautiful Sydney autumn day. Who could ask for more, it was so good that Sebastian fell asleep exhausted at the end of the shoot!

The best part about our jobs is that we get to see people in the most important phases of their lives, and often get to keep connecting with our clients. We photographed Penny & Nick's wedding just under 2 years ago, and were very excited when they contacted us to tell us their first baby was on the way and asked us to photograph her when she got here.... yay!
So please meet little Miss Isabelle, she is just gorgeous and her parents look just as excited about her as they were on their wedding day x
Newborn portrait photography is all about patience, and Isabelle made sure I had plenty as she really wasn't sure she wanted to be striped or not cuddled. Lucky for me she had some of her grandparents visiting from overseas who I got to know at the wedding so I enjoyed waiting and chatting as much as taking the photos!
Thanks again Penny & Nick she is just scrumptious x

Meet baby Isla just 5 days young!
Isla's Mum was our eldest daughters class teacher last year, so I feel like I've watched Isla grow all her life! It was such a treat to finally meet her and be asked to "Capture the Memories" for her family of this precious time, when she is such a wee little thing. She was such a good girl too, lovely and relaxed.
Thank you Sally & Chris for inviting me into your home, you have such a beautiful little family, I look forward to watching little Isla grow x

Baby Savanna's Mum contacted me about baby portraits of her when she was about 7 weeks old, I advised (as I always do) that is was best to wait until she was 12 weeks old for the photos as up until then babies tend to be a little unfocused making cross eyes and looking strangely at the camera. From 12 weeks on they tend to want to interact with the camera and people, and they have their own little personalities showing through.... which I'm sure you'll agree you can see her with Savanna.
As the photography session was the week before Christmas, and Baby's first Christmas we took some photos in a Christmas oufit. And a few other adorable outfits Mum had for her. Then she was a little unsettled and tired so a quick feed and then she was ready for sleep.... more adorable photos of a beautiful sleeping baby!

Little Lachie was born at just 2.5kg but as you can see quite long..... so I lost him a few times in my basket as he is such a tiny bundle.
He was such a little angel for me, dozing nicely and smiling regularly in his sleep.... I think he is going to be a very happy little boys.
Congratulations Caroline & Michael x

I spend Father's Day capturing the joy of little Matthew's baptism at St Peter's Anglican Church Cremorne. It was a beautiful day with Matthew's family and friends celebrating this great occasion.
The christening took place at the baptisimal font at the side of the church, a very intimate location where everyone felt they were part of the occasion. Then following the ceremony everyone went back to the family home in Cremorne for an very relaxed fun afternoon. Matthew particularly enjoyed being handed around all the guests, such a smiley, happy, content little boy you would never guess he is only 4 months old!

We absolutely adore photographing our clients families as they grow, and were really excited when this family contacted us to ask us to photograph their family again now their second son is around the same age as their first was when we last photographed them. Especially as Hugo's little brother Edison is just as smiley as he is!
We met the at their family home in Camperdown, which is always a good option with 1 - 2 year olds as it's an environment they feel confortable in, then headed to the local park for some fun on the swings.
A beautiful family, and I'm so please I managed to capture the fun and loving way they interact :-)

Little baby Zoe is the luckiest girl being born into such a loving family with 3 older siblings already!
We photographed her youngest brother Lachie a couple of years ago at about the same age and tried to get some similar photos to join the canvas collection on the wall of all the children. She is 9 weeks old, but as she was 4 weeks premi we weren't sure if we would get the same response from her, but given that she is technically 5 weeks old she is very aware and responsive..... maybe when you have all those older 'adoring' siblings you can't help but be alert.
Gorgeous family, I so enjoyed 'capturing their memories' for them x

Little baby Oscar was 1 week old when I got to meet him with his very proud Mum, Dad and big brother William at their family home. At this age, he should have still been sleepy and dreaming only of milk and cuddles, content to let the world move around him..... but whether it was the education in the womb by his big brother, who is non-stop activity, or just wanting to get to know the world quicker, Oscar spent the morning keeping an eye on this strange lady and her camera, plus keeping one ear open to hear what his brother was up to!
He is so adorable, with his 'old man' wrinkles in his forehead and brow, and very alert eyes it was hard not to just enjoy the attention. However, we all worked hard to get him to relax and sleep, even William and myself heading off for a play in his bedroom and jumping on his bed (a forbidden activity made it all the more fun!). Finally Oscar decided he would just give in and sleep for the lovely lady here to take his photograph.
Thanks to the whole family for welcoming me into your home and allowing me to capture in photographs this very special time for you x

We were lucky enough to capture the beginning of this little cherubs life with a pregnancy portrait session with her parents (and big brother Maximus the great dane!) just 2 weeks before she was born, and now we've photographer her as a baby at 3 months old in the family home.
She's a very cute and curious little girl, as you can see from some of the looks she was giving me. But my favourite part of these photographs is watching her eyes as she chats to her Mum and Dad!
We also captured a few photos with her grandmother and great aunt out from Italy, and of course with Maximus.... she even got to ride him (I'm sure it won't be the last time that happens!)

We photographed Chloe & Archie's parents wedding a couple of years ago and were delighted when they called up to get us to capture this next step in their lives...... Twins!
Chloe and Archie are very different in personality already, Miss Chloe is a very typical girl keeping an eye on everything and not missing a trip, while Archie is clearly a mummy's boy wanting her attention and also building himself up to be nice and strong. Together they are adorable and obviously much more relaxed when both are together. In the middle of our photo shoot you'll see they passed out cuddling together ....
You'll also see that Dad is a BIG Parramatta Eels fan, their wedding cake also had the colours and the figures of a rugby player. Archie looks like he is content to go with Dad's team on this one.... but Chloe doesn't think the colours suit her....
All around a beautiful family and we can't wait to watch them as they grow x

We have been lucky enough to capture this very precious time for Michelle & Chris, firstly with a pregnancy portrait session at Centennial Park just a few months ago, and now to meet with gorgeous little newborn baby Estelle Rose at just 8 days old!
She was a little angel, very sleepy and relaxed when I first arrived after a lovely feed, and then she woke up to chat to Mummy & Daddy. So very sweet....

Belinda & Kieron are expecting their first little baby any minute! Yes Belinda was 38 weeks pregnant for the portrait session and doesn't she look amazing..... if only I'd looked that good at 38 weeks!
They wanted to capture their family before the bub arrives, so their Great Dane Maximus came along for the pregnancy portrait session at Blue Point Reserve on the shores of Sydney Harbour. He was a very good boy joining in their afternoon picnic and champagne, and watching the boats cruise by on the harbour.
They are such a gorgeous couple, I can't wait to meet their bump when I photograph it in a newborn session in a couple of weeks....

It's this little baby boy just delicious! He is 2 weeks old, so a little older than we would normally work with for a newborn, and a third child he was pretty aware. But once I stopped talking he finally settled down with Mum, and stopped wanting to open his eyes and check out this new lady..... Then he was lovely and sleepy, and gorgeous as you can see.
As I said he is a third child and I asked his Mum if she wanted photos with his older brother, but she decided she wanted to capture him by himself where he could be calm. Then when he is a little older capture the interaction with his siblings.
I think she made the right choice don't you.....

I took a little impromtu photo shoot with our girls last Friday.
Our eldest had a special dress up day at school, so No.2 needed to join in of course, in what else by fairy outfits! I took the camera to school to take photos of the parade in the dress ups, and it was such a lovely day that on the walk home we stopped for some photos :-)
They also then came home and danced around the fairy ring we have in our garden.....

Litte Man Bertram at just 12 days old.....
Once again we got to appreciate the joy of one of the couples whose wedding we photographed contacting us and asking us to capture their memories of the next exciting even in their life.... their newborn son. Congratulations Rachel & Rupert!
At 12 days old Bertram was a little older than we usually like for newborns as they become more difficult to settle and be relaxed in front of someone new.... but this was no problem at all for this little baby he was perfect. It could have been because his parents were so relaxed too, and we just worked patiently with him. The only thing he really liked to do to photo bomb was stick his tongue out all the time! You'll see at the end he clearly is going to be doing this to his parents for a long time to come!
Enjoy to wonders of a precious new little baby.....

We had the pleasure to photographing this little man's cousins before Christmas, and he was included in a few photos for the grandparents as a present. Then his Mum contacted us to ask for a portrait session all of his own now he is a cubbly, adorable, 4 month old baby. It's he just gorgeous, with those plump little lips and smooth alabaster skin....
As with most of our baby portrait session we photographed in the family home where the baby is most comfortable, and we have lots of options for changing clothes and including family items. For this portrait session we had lots to work with, firstly the antique wicker baby bassinet which used to be baby William's grandfathers, contrasting with the lovely lush garden it was gorgeous. Then lots of hand made items from his very talented aunts and grandmothers, even a croched rug which his mother had played with as a baby herself.
Thank you for inviting me into your home guys and letting me capture these memories of your beautiful little baby boy.....
