  1. One of the hardest things about COVID lockdowns has been the separation of families, even in the same country people have not been able to see each other for years. Well this family were delighted to see each other after 2 and a half years travelling over from WA to NSW and wanted me to capture the memories for them at their gorgeous home in the southern highlands.

    What a pleasure!

  2. What to do when we have a very wet summer in Sydney, that seems to go on forever.... embrace it with gumboots and umbrellas!

This family were booked for a family portrait mini session earlier this autumn but on the day couldn't attend so change to a Weekday 40:40 session a month later as we took a while to find a date that worked. When it arrived the weather didn't look great, with rain forcast but that seemed to be the cast for every day this year so instead of rescheduling again the family decided to embrace the weather and we carried on with gumboots and umbrellas while exploring Wendy Whiteley's secret garden.

    A fabulous morning!

  3. Another year for banking memories of Peter & Callum. I've been having family portrait sessions with these two for over 8 years. As a single parent you don't often get photos of yourself with your child just having fun, so Peter has asked me along to a fun adventure with himself and Callum every year to capture these memories over time.

Last year was their last session with their lovely Black Labrador Onyx, who died of old age earlier this year. So at this session I got to meet their new puppy Zoomer, what a bundle of energy and lots of fun.

As always looking foward to the next adventure boys x

  4. What a stunning afternoon we had at Echo Point Park, Roseville Chase for these fun family portraits. We chose the location because their dog Dali could come along too which was really important. She's a rescue dog, who used to be a breeding dog so not a great life. When they rescued her she was very over weight and badly looked after. Now look at her, she's got a second chance at lift and you can just see how much she's enjoying it.... lucky girls to have been welcomed into this gorgeous family.

  5. 2020 has been an year, everyone has found their own way of dealing with it, and its an experience it would be great to look back on. The 6 weeks of isolation in April and May made me realise how important family is and how much fun we can all have when we aren't rushing around keeping up with activities.

So at the end of Iso as things started to open up a little I offered mini sessions in peoples front garden so we could all look back on these memories in future. Many of the families included the pets, as they became so important when everyone was at home. And other activities like bike riding, "Just Dance" and basketball.
It was a fun project and I've enjoyed looking back on the family photos already, I'm sure they will for years to come.

  6. Family photos for a grandmother's birthday is always a hit, and what fun I had with this crowd when I turned up to their birthday celebrations. It did feel a little strange when I arrived and Nanny said "Are you my birthday present..." though.

This family took advantage of our 40:40 Special package being offered on the weekend, we got all the combinations of the family together for Nanny to put up on her wall, and had lots of laughs along the way.

Thank you for the lovely feedback too:

"Hi Jennifer! Thanks so much for the photos - they are absolutely beautiful! I don't know how you do it! Thanks for being so patient with the kids and remembering our names so quickly! We will definitely find an excuse to use you again! You did such a great job. Thank you. Love the Hancotts. "

  7. While I was down in Melbourne recently, for a wedding, I was asked by the family of on emy Mum's oldest and dearest friends to capture some extended family portraits for their 50th Wedding anniversary.

It's always a privilege to capture family memories for people, but its even more special when its a family that I love too x

  8. Spring Mini Family Portrait Sessions this year were held at Wendy Whiteley's Secret Garden in Lavender Bay. It's such a magical spot, so many little paths to explore, quaint items to find in the gardens, lots of greenery and beautiful light. The weather wasn't as warm as we'd hoped for this time of year, but the gardens were well protected from the cold winds so we had a lovely morning.

  9. Our second Aussie Santa Photo session for 2018 was a lovely afternoon. We had our usual fun with dogs, flossing, letters to Santa and the usual tears..... Santa does spend a lot of time walking away so the kids can relax and then popping up in the background without them knowing :-)

  11. Unfortunately we had to postpone our Aussie Santa Photos last Friday because of Thunderstorms, there wasn't a huge amount of rain but for the safety of all involved we decided to change the session to Saturday..... best deicision look how good the weather was! And luckily there was only 2 familes that we weren't able to accommodate with the change.

As usual we had a range of reactions to Santa, but he usually wins them over in the end with high fives or just being sneaky and getting into the back of the photo without them knowing....

  12. So I first met Miss Everest (named after the snow pup in Paw Patrol.... too cute) when she was fresh to the family at just 8 weeks old, a bundle of energy that was very trick to keep up with.... she even tried to eat the camera :-) Then I came back 6 weeks later to take photos of her with her family, and boy had she grown!

It's so adorable to see the joy she brings to them all. Each sibling insisted on their own photos with Everest as they played and cuddled with her, plus her parents! She is one very lucky pup receiving lots and lots of love x

  13. Oh the fun we had with our glitter mini sessions! Glitter is a little bit like sand you can't help but touch it and play with it, and the sparkle makes everyone that little bit more excited.

We spent the morning with lots of lovely families playing and having fun with the glitter, as you can see below it was a magical experience.

  14.  We've been lucky enough to capture memories for this family for a long time, including maternity photographs with their eldest child, her baby portraits and now this little mans baby portraits. The family pets always get included in the portrait sessions as they are very much a part of the family.

So you'll see as the focus of this portrait session was on baby Liam who is 12 weeks old, his big sister and family pets also got very involved in the session.

  15. Every 6 to 12 months I get to catch up with Peter & Callum and have a family portrait session. We've been doing this since Callum was a baby and it's lots of fun. Each time I get to go on an adventure with these guys and capture what they are up to. Sometimes we have Onyx the family dog, a beautiful black labrador, and somethings we are being too adventurous for him.

This session was held at Sydney Park in Alexandria, a great park which was redeveloped from an old brick works. It contains lots of open areas, wetlands with birds and streams and wooded areas. The other great thing about Sydney Park is its an off leash dog park so there are hundreds of people out walking their dogs.

Peter has decided to start a new tradition where we are going to photograph Callum holding a framed photo from our last session so we can see how he's grown. This is the first one on these, and I look forward to seeing how the photos pan out over time.

  17. Peter has been asking us to photograph his family since Callum was 12 months old. We photograph them every 6 months with the family dog, when appropriate, to capture them for family back in England. It's such a fabulous way for them to "Capture their memories" and has now evolved into more of a docu style portrait session. We come along with Peter & Callum on an adventure and just capture the fun they have.

This time it was a bush walk along Flat Rock Gully Track in Naremburn, where Peter runs regularly. We had a play in the playground first, then walked along the track down into the gully for a splash in the creek. Unfortunately the weather is something we can't plan (which you'll see from the previous shoot with puddles and rain) and it was 35 degrees and boiling but we soldiered on and the boys enjoyed putting their feet in the cool water and racing stick boats down the creek. We also saw some "tigers" in the forest and had fun with different games.

  19. What do you do when there is lots of rain on a family portrait session.... embrass it and jump in the puddles!

We photograph Peter & Callum every 6 months or so for family portraits they send home to family in England, this time they were camping down at Narrabeen Lakes, and as always happens when people plan on camping it rained! So we embrassed it and went to Jamieson Park on the more protected side of the lake (out of the rain) and dressed in waterproofs and gum boots to jump in the puddles...... lots of fun.

Thanks Peter & Callum as always we captured your fun, we missed Onyx (the family labrador) this time but I'm sure we'll see him next time x

  21. We were lucky enough to capture the beginning of this little cherubs life with a pregnancy portrait session with her parents (and big brother Maximus the great dane!) just 2 weeks before she was born, and now we've photographer her as a baby at 3 months old in the family home.

She's a very cute and curious little girl, as you can see from some of the looks she was giving me. But my favourite part of these photographs is watching her eyes as she chats to her Mum and Dad!

We also captured a few photos with her grandmother and great aunt out from Italy, and of course with Maximus.... she even got to ride him (I'm sure it won't be the last time that happens!)

  22. Little Phoebe is just 12 weeks old but what a character with beautiful big blue eyes and the most adorable chubby cheeks.

We had lots of fun mucking around trying to make her smile, and then she started to get grizzly and tired so we got her brother & sister (the family dogs) to come and join her and she relaxed immediately, it was so cute! That's one of the reasons I love to photograph baby portraits in the family home as the babies and their families can relax in their own surroundings.....

  23. Peter is one of our regular clients inviting us to capture his memories of his family, including the family dog Onyx, every 6 months. It's fabulous for us to catch up with them and watch his son Callum grow, and also special records for Peter's family in England who don't get to see them all the time.

This session was held at Blues Point Reserve, a great location for portraits with dogs which also allow for beautiful views of Sydney Harbour.... what better images to send home to England! We also had some fun capturing some Christmas photographs for this years christmas card....

  24. Belinda & Kieron are expecting their first little baby any minute! Yes Belinda was 38 weeks pregnant for the portrait session and doesn't she look amazing..... if only I'd looked that good at 38 weeks!

They wanted to capture their family before the bub arrives, so their Great Dane Maximus came along for the pregnancy portrait session at Blue Point Reserve on the shores of Sydney Harbour. He was a very good boy joining in their afternoon picnic and champagne, and watching the boats cruise by on the harbour.

They are such a gorgeous couple, I can't wait to meet their bump when I photograph it in a newborn session in a couple of weeks....
