We photographed Julieanne's 1st birthday party 6 years ago and were delighted when her parents contacted us to capture her 7th birthday party. A unicorn my pony party held at a property in Galston Gorge. All the children enjoyed the fabulous spread of food and goodies, then they had a ball riding the ponies.
Thank you for inviting me, and I look forward to seeing you again at the beach this year for Aussie Santa photos as always Jasper & Glen!

Zara Turns One…. isn’t she adorable! She just like a doll, and such a smiley happy little girl with all her loving family around her. And what a stunning theming her very clever Mummy created for her first birthday party at Otto Ristorante in Wooloomooloo. The spring florals by @seedflora in a range of pinks and soft pastels looked amazing and also smelled fabulous, plus all the other lovely details.
Thanks Yasmina for inviting me to capture your memories of such a special event!

Duke's first birthday party was themed beautifully by his clever Mummy in a woodlands theme, which worked perfectly with the background of The Camperdown Commons. Duke's little Peter Rabbit outfit, plus the woodland critters were very cute. They also hired some soft play euipqment and ball pit which were set up in the courtyard and all the toddlers enjoyed playing in there.
Duke is a very lucky boys, first of the next generation for both sides of the family he is doted on my aunts, grand parents and great grandparents, which created a loving atmosphere for the party. Plus as you can see he REALLY enjoyed eating his birthday cake, love the facial expressions and the tongue!
Thanks for inviting me to capture your memories of this lovely birthday party Kristyl & Ben :-)

Beautiful day last weekend for Charbel’s 1st Birthday party, beautifully themed by his talented Mummy @laurahazzouri who clearly has a designers eye with the amazing set up and colour palate for his wild theme.
I've been photographing this extended families celebrations for the last 6 years, they are always spectacular but the best thing about them is the love and warmth the whole family shows towards each other and everyone else. Its a pleasure to watch and capture. Thank you Hazzouri's!

We have been very priviledged to capture a number of celebrations for this family, and little Addison's christening was a lovely as the rest. A beautiful autumn day with the ceremony held at Kings School Chapel, where Addison enjoyed all the attention the only process she didn't like was having the water dabbed on her head.... she pushed the ministers hand away.
After the ceremony everyone headed to Biviano's in Dural for the afternoon where Addison's mother had created a beautiful dessert buffet in rich creams and golds.... definitely looked to good to eat!
Thank you for inviting us to capture this event for you, as always a pleasure to work with the Ragg family x

This family do parties so well, even when they are just having a small party for their youngest 3rd birthday it's still fabulous!
They requested a quick family portrait sessions just before the party started to update their photos of their three beautiful girls, it's a great opportunity as they kids grow so quickly at this age, ask us about it when you book in for your next party photography booking.
Then the Madagascar themed party began with fabulous animal face painting, pass the parcel, musical statues and a fabulous cake :-)

This is an 11 year old boys DREAM birthday party, I mean who would want a Jurassic World themed party complete with life size dinosaurs peering at you from every vantage point, blow up dinosaurs in the pool, a water slide, fabulous themed lolly bar and food.
The day started with showers and overcast which went perfectly with the theme of Jurassic World in the jungle and didn't deter the kids who went straight into the pool and had a ball. Then fabulous food and onto the home cinema for a viewing of Jurassic World the movie before cake and back to the pool as the sun had come out.
The whole event was amazingly themed by Zev's gorgeous Mum and the team at www.CateringByDesign.com.au Karin is great and the food was fabulous.
On request from the client, for privacy reasons, I can't show photos with any of the kids but thought you'd like to see the fab theming!

Nicholas' Mum is a very old friend of mine, so I was honoured when she asked me to photograph his Christening & 1st Birthday Party!
The celebration was being held at the family home, so we arranged for me to arrive early to get a few family portraits before the guests started arriving, always a good idea. Nicholas is the smiliest 1 year old I know so he was easy, his big brother on the other hand was not so keen on the camera.... but very cheeky! And as you can see they are both besotted with their Grandma.
Then the party began with lots of family and friends around to help celebrate, and a lovely naming ceremony carried out by one of our favourite celebrants Elaine Searle, held on the deck with the lovely afternoon sun in the background.
A beautiful day, thanks for inviting me to "Capture Your Memories" guys x

Unfortunately due to some miscommunication between the church and Joshua's parents when I arrived at Kellyville Anglican church to photograph Joshua's chistening the ceremony had already taken place. Even though I arrived earlier than advised :-(
Anyway we managed to have some fun with Joshua, who is such a lovely smiling little man, while the sermon was taking place, and then have some photos with the minister and god parents around the font. Plus we captured all the well wishers over morning tea at the church.
Following the morning tea the guests travelled to Curzon Hall for a fabulous lunch to celebrate Joshua. As you can see he loved being the centre of attention and is a very happily little boy.....

Last weekend there was a very special celebration at our childrens preschool. The director of the preschool known by all as "Janie Pops" is retiring for a sea change, she has been at the KU Killarney Heights preschool for 12 years. However, she has worked for KU for much longer than that, having been a student teacher at KU Mosman when I was there are a little girl myself!
Janie Pops is part of the framework of the Killarney Heights community, which is very close knit, so as you can see there was a huge number of families who came to wish her well. One her request it was an afternoon tea with chicken sandwiches and champagne, some beautiful speeches, a special visit from our local clown "Sparkles" aka Tony, and lots of fun for all.
I arrived late just after the speeches had started, as I was coming from photographing a Christening that morning, and was a little emcumbered with a sick child so couldn't move around at will like I usually would. However, the below show the afternoon with the large crowd and atmosphere as a memory for Janie Pops of a special farewell :-)

I spend Father's Day capturing the joy of little Matthew's baptism at St Peter's Anglican Church Cremorne. It was a beautiful day with Matthew's family and friends celebrating this great occasion.
The christening took place at the baptisimal font at the side of the church, a very intimate location where everyone felt they were part of the occasion. Then following the ceremony everyone went back to the family home in Cremorne for an very relaxed fun afternoon. Matthew particularly enjoyed being handed around all the guests, such a smiley, happy, content little boy you would never guess he is only 4 months old!

Baby Angelina & Tristan are very lucky cousins they have a very loving extended family, and as their parents were sisters marrying brothers they have the same extended family! Which makes for a great opportunity to share a christening and celebration...
Their christening was held at Our Lady of Lebanon in Harris Park, with one of their aunts as Godmother and their parents exchanging the duties for each child..... I tell you the priest got a little confused between parents and godparents! Then there was a celebratory lunch at Concerto Restaurant in Homebush Bay, where the adults were entertained with a fabulous banquet, and the kids with a tumble town, and fairy facepainting and games.
As you can see it was a beautiful day, and such a loving, fun family to be a part of x

Kosta & Dimitri's family held a combined baptism ceremony at the Greek Orthodox Church in Crows Nest before heading to Manly Leagues Club for a great party to celebrate.
The ceremony in the beautiful church was lovely, Kosta being a little bit older was not so happy about being dunked into the cool water but his little brother Dimitri took it all in his stride as he watched the proceedings with his big brown eyes.
The party at Manly Leagues club included lots of yummy food, a jumping castle and of course plenty of greek dancing!

Alicia is a very lucky girl with lots of loving family and friends around to help her celebrate her baptism day.
The baptism ceremony was held at St Michael's Baulkham Hills, a very relaxed occasion with a number of babies being christened together. All the family and friends in attendance were so loving and supportive it was beautiful. Then everyone headed back to a family home for lots of fun, and a feast to celebrate... there was even a karaoke machine so I'm sure the party went on well after I left.
Thank you for inviting me to capture this special event in Alicia's life.

Isn't Gabi just the luckiest little girl, her Mum put in lots of effort to give her the dream 3 year old birthday party.... a Fairy Princess Party!
On arrival the table was set with a huge array of pink cakes and lollies, plus princess dolls and ornaments. Then Fairy Star, from http://www.fairycrystal.com.au, arrived to entertain all the children with magic spells & pixie dust, dancing, pass the parcel, drawing, limbo and face painting. Which of course all the children at the party just loved.... and the adults.
Then the lucky birthday princess enjoyed blowing out the candles on her special pink princess birthday cake....
Thanks for letting me capture your memories, with party photography, of a fun birthday party Gabi!

A fabulous 40th birthday party at The Ivy Penthouse Sydney.....
We've been lucky enough to photograph a number of parties for this family, usually themed children's parties, but this time it was a fabulous 40th birthday party held at The Ivy nightclub in Sydney. Lots of glamorous guests and friends partying the night away.... it looks like lots of fun. The Penthouse is actually an apartment so includes living spaces, plus a spa bath and DJ to dance too! Plus a large screen TV where a DVD was presented and speeches before the birthday cake.... a specially designed cake of Penfold's Shiraz, the birthday boys vintage of course!
A brilliant night with lots of great photos to remember the festivities!

What an amazing 1st Birthday Party this was for the dear little Julieanne Ysabella. Held in the War Memorial Hall in Hornsby, the hall was decked out with a Mad Hatter's Tea Party for the children to have their fun and laughter, this had been excellently set up and themed by the talented 'www.missteaparty.com' girls.
There were great party games for the children to enjoy, including pass-the-parcel, egg-and-spoon race, face painting, parachute fun, bubble blowing and plenty of laughs to be had in the dressing up in all the crazy hats. The guests were treated to an extravagant pig roast and sumptuous lunch, as the children enjoyed the attentions and entertainment of Alice and The Queen of Hearts, who were attending to their needs. I fully enjoyed my time at the party and capturing these happy moments for the family to treasure. The Lolly Bar was one of the many highlights of the day (as you can see from the photos below) and there was plenty of revisits to this tremendous dessert! After the guests had been entertained by Alice and The Queen of Hearts, and had fed themselves on the tremendous food on offer, it was soon time to wish the birthday girl many happy returns and join the gathering for the cutting of the cake.
Julieanne's cake was exquisite and wonderfully in-keeping with the theme of the day, being a crazy hat design. After such a celebration, the birthday girl was so exhuasted that she was soon fast asleep and dreaming of the wonderful world of 'Wonderland'. A wonderful celebration and a party which will never be forgotten.
Many Happy Returns Julieanne - I thoroughly enjoyed being a part of this special day.

Lucky little Eve has a very creative Mum who designed and presented this Farm Themed 1st Birthday Party for her. The table was set with pumpkins, corn husks, wooden baskets, sweet treats, crunchy apples, a strawberry patch, chick feed (chips), hot food and lots of cakes and sweets. Then the garden was filled with hay bails and nursery animals from KindiFarm.
All the children had a fabulous morning petting the animals, cuddling them, feeding the bigger ones and even giving bottles of milk to the lambs and calves, which I'm sure they'll talk about for a while. Then they all got to share in the yummy 1st Birthday Cake set with all the different animal and made by Eve's Mum.
A gorgeous 1st Birthday party with lots and lots of photos to capture the memories.....

Thought we'd quickly share with you some of the theming for our daughter's 2nd birthday party..... Her favourite book is the Gruffalo, plus the DVD so we themed it as "Tea with a Gruffalo"
"What's a gruffalo, why didn't you know?"
"His eyes are orange; his tongue is black; he has purple prickles all over his back....."

What a great 1st Birthday Party this was for Alina! Held on sprawling grounds of a farm in Llandilo, Karina organised a grand celebration for Alina and her family and friends.
Sunshine, guests, pony rides, bubble machines, ball pits, music, BBQ, loads of delicious food, and a dog in a waistcoat! This was a recipe for fun!
The party kicked off with music, BBQ and plenty of freedom to play and chat for all, in temperatures reaching 30 degrees. Lunch was soon served and everyone was keen to get a taste of the delicious spread provided. The Birthday girl was keen to get in on the action and was seen to be leading the charge on playing in the ball pit. Then the resident pony was brought out and the children waited anxiously for their turn to ride around the paddock.
A rendition of "Happy Birthday" was followed by the cake cutting - and what a tremendous cake! Then the kids' turn to 'Smash the Cake' (another cake!) Always a great way for the kids to 'have their cake and eat it' in the only way toddlers know how - using hands, feet, heads and anything else they need to eat it!
What an exhausting afternoon - some are keen for a quick nap before coming back to the party later!

What a magical day for this little princess. Her 3rd birthday party was a princess themed party and her Mum (who is very talented clearly) went to great lengths to ensure it was the perfect day. I just loved it, all the pink, fairy wings, princess crowns, castle cake, fair dust, face painting, drawing and dancing.
You'll see the only way to do justice to this party in photography was to capture the detail.....

Oh to be 18 again!! Johann celebrated his 18th birthday party at Waverton Bowling Club with many of his good friends and family. Dancing was of the highest quality during the party, as were many of the outfits! The evening was a feast of beautiful people, delicious food, wonderful speeches, a humurous slideshow with great laughter and stories to share. A few party guests even managed a drink or two...!!
Justin, once again, had a great time during the evening at this 18th birthday party, sharing in the celebrations and capturing some fabulous moments, with his photography, as the night grew into a feverish pace! All the guests, as you can see, had a wonderful time and Justin was able to secure some wonderfully candid shots during the party, from the birthday boy's grandmothers and aunts, to his school friends.

Mother's Day is just around the corner and it prompted us to think about mothers....aren't they just the most amazing people! I think we should cherish them as much as we can in our everyday lives. However, it's wonderful to be able to look back on captured memories when we do take some time-out to appreciate our fabulous mothers.
I recently read a blog posted by a fellow photographer, posing the question: "Is there a perfect time for family portrait photography?" She points out how quickly time flashes by when we aren't looking, and how important it is to capture the "here and now" no matter what. She touches on those families who have very sadly lost their mothers, and how important it is for them to be able to look back on the captured memories and cherish every photo they have.
The conclusion of her article is: "we never know what tomorrow will bring our way....NO, THERE IS NO PERFECT TIME...." She hopes that the article "....will inspire someone, who might be waiting for that perfect time or to lose a couple of kilos, to book a photographer…today!"
So this Mother's Day, capture those memories by ordering a Portrait Package Gift Voucher with J Roberts Photography, for your Mum, your wife or a pregnant mother-to-be!

Jamie's 21st birthday party is certainly one that will be remembered as great fun by all, if these photos are anything to go by! Justin had a lot of fun capturing the night and as usual fitted into the crowd - so much so that the client said many people thought he was a family friend....
The party was held at Hilton Sydney and was themed with purple and orange which looks stunning in the photographs. All the guests were dressed to impress in black tie for a great night out. The evening held speeches, slideshows, a pipe band and highland dancers in acknowledgement of Jamie's heritage, and lots of dancing on the dance floor. Please enjoy looking back on the night through these photos......

Wazza'a 30th was a big party and he wanted some great photos to capture the memories. He was so lovely in the lead up and really excited, both Justin and I got excited along with him. He had arranged for 30 of his friends to join him at Strike Bowl @ King St Wharf for a night of bowling and karaoke... with karaoke as the focus which you'll see below.
There was lots of fun had by all, and some great party photographs to remember the evening....
